My name is Spencer Philips. I've lived in Henrico my whole life. I went to Freeman High School,
played football, and helped our class place 1st in Virginia and 2nd
nationally at the "We the People" civics competition. I also worked for
Henrico County alongside the Board of Supervisors, where I saw the value
of public service.
Then I went to William & Mary. I studied government and history,
worked with first graders to help them learn to read, and started a business.
I came out of those experiences believing that responsibility matters.
In the shadow of Thomas Jefferson, I took to heart the
fundamental ideals of our country — individual liberty, equality,
decency. We have the responsibility to defend them.
